What Are Community Help Groups?
Community Help Groups are small, grassroots circles of people — neighbors, parents, farmers, and entrepreneurs — who come together every week under the guidance of The Badu-Schandorf Foundation. Each group is a safe, structured space where members share challenges, pool knowledge, and hold one another accountable toward real, lasting change.
The Foundation provides facilitation training, resource materials, and ongoing mentorship so that every group has the tools it needs to thrive. But the heart of each group belongs entirely to its members.
Four Areas of Focus
Each group addresses the challenges that matter most in their community, organized around four interconnected pillars.
01
Education
Groups support school enrollment, literacy, and skills training. Members share tutoring resources, sponsor school fees for children in need, and advocate for quality education in their communities.
02
Health & Well-being
From maternal health to disease prevention, groups organize health education sessions, coordinate access to clinics, and ensure vulnerable members receive the care they need.
03
Agriculture & Food Security
Farmers within groups share best practices, pool resources for seeds and tools, and collectively negotiate better prices at market — turning subsistence farming into sustainable livelihoods.
04
Economic Empowerment
Groups run micro-savings schemes, support small business start-ups, and connect members to microfinance opportunities — building economic resilience from the ground up.
How the Groups Work
A simple, proven model that puts community members in the driver's seat.
Form
Community members — typically 15 to 30 people — come together voluntarily, often through a local leader or Foundation field officer.
Meet Weekly
Groups hold structured weekly meetings to discuss challenges, celebrate progress, and plan collective action around their chosen focus areas.
Support One Another
Members contribute time, skills, and small resources to help each other. No challenge is faced alone — the group is the safety net.
Grow Together
With Foundation mentorship, groups track their progress, celebrate milestones, and expand their impact to neighboring communities over time.
